For any person wondering what the challenge coins represent, you will be happy to know that these coins do symbolize camaraderie, solidarity and team spirit, they are made to boost the morale of the soldiers who are a part of the military. These days, other organizations have began to use the challenge coins in order to enhance the morale in their groups like the business organizations, sports teams, scout groups, charities, church groups, fraternal organizations and ROTC units. These are only some of the examples of different organizations that now use custom challenge coins having their own insignia on them. They are handed out to members as a form of appreciation or reward for their effort and time and in order to make them feel that they belong in the group and they are valuable members.
The rule that the challenge coins should be carried by the group members all the time is not written especially when they meet altogether. However, when a member is not able to show the coin when asked by one member, then that member who did not bring the coin should do a task for the other group members. In the military, when this kind of rule is applied, the member who is not able to show the challenge coin should reward the challenger and the other members with a drink. But, when each of the group members can produce the coin then the challenger will have to buy them drinks. Hence, they see to it that they bring their coins with them.
